ADPP Guinea-Bissau continues to promote the strengthening of agricultural value chains and the sustainable development of rural communities through the Agricultural and Rural Value Chains and Entrepreneurship Support Project (PACVEAR-GAFSP).

Within this framework, agricultural materials and equipment were distributed to 15 Producer Organisations (POs) benefiting from the project, with the aim of strengthening the productive capacity of the supported horticultural and rice-growing areas in the regions of Oio and Bafatá.

The handover ceremony took place in Bissorã and was attended by project representatives, agricultural sector authorities, members of the management committees of the beneficiary organisations, and institutional partners. Participants included Júlio Cassamá, Head of the Project Management Unit branch office in Bafatá; Dário Bacurim, Regional Delegate for Agriculture; Djoncom Camará, Director of EVB; and Sadjo Camará, Leader of the PACVEAR-GAFSP Project.

The materials distributed included hoes, machetes, shovels, rakes, pickaxes and wheelbarrows for the horticultural areas, as well as power tillers and rice threshers for the rice-growing areas. These items of equipment will support the daily work of producers and contribute to the more efficient management of cultivated land.

The initiative aims to improve agricultural production conditions, increase productivity, and strengthen the organisational capacity of the associations and cooperatives supported by the project. By providing appropriate production equipment, the project also contributes to enhancing food security, increasing household incomes, and creating better economic opportunities within rural communities.
