
On the 17 October, marked the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty — a reminder that ending poverty is also a fight for #dignity,#justice and #respect for all families.
Community-led initiatives empower people, value local knowledge, and foster collaboration to address unique challenges. Although obstacles remain, these approaches demonstrate that lasting change is possible when communities take the lead.
According to the World Bank (2025), around 50.5% of Guinea-Bissau’s population — equivalent to 886,000 people — lived below the national poverty line in 2021.
ADPP Guiné-Bissau is working to change this reality: by training teachers, agricultural technicians, and entrepreneurs, it helps to increase qualifications, improve family income, and reduce economic vulnerability.
