On 8 March, the Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil marked International Women’s Day with the participation of women from the Bachil community and from the organisation SOS Criança Canchungo.
The programme included a talk on Women’s Rights, delivered by Julieta Bernardo Sigá, a Portuguese teacher at DNS-Bachil, and Ladislau Sami, a lawyer invited by SOS Criança Canchungo. The activity was followed by an open discussion, which provided a space for reflection and the exchange of experiences among the participants.
The celebration also included cultural moments, such as performances of traditional dances, poetry and music, highlighting cultural expression and community participation.
During the afternoon, a women’s football match was also held between the teams of DNS-Bachil and the Bachil community, promoting interaction, team spirit and women’s participation in sport.
The celebration concluded with an evening dedicated to recognising and appreciating the women of the school and the community, reinforcing the importance of their role in education, the family and society.
