As part of the ECOWAS Stabilisation and Development Fund for Fragile Regions, with support from the German Government through the project “Brilliant Professional Opportunities and Empowerment of Youth and Women for Community-Led Sustainable Development in Guinea-Bissau”, a visit was carried out by representatives of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on Thursday, 25 June 2025, to the communities of Buba in the Quinara region.
During the visit, the partners had the opportunity to witness first-hand the work of the Farmers’ Clubs in the com munities of Can de Estrada, in the Empada sector, and Tite, both located in the Quinara region.
The clubs are examples of how cooperation and sustained commitment can generate a positive and lasting impact in the region.
By focusing on Human Rights and Agroecology, the project aims to empower young people and women, providing them with the necessary tools to lead positive change within their communities.
In Guinea-Bissau, the project is led by SWISSAID, in partnership with ADPP Guinea-Bissau, AA, OGD – Guinean Development Organisation, Cope Cooperazione Paesi Emergenti, and Tostan. This cooperation is essential for strengthening communities and promoting sustainable development in the region.
