
On 27 February 2026, the official opening ceremony of the 5th Basic Social Services Fair took place at the headquarters of ADPP Guinea-Bissau, in Bissau. This initiative was organised within the framework of the Social Protection Technical Group (GTPS), of which ADPP Guinea-Bissau is an active member.
The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Women, Family and Social Solidarity, Dr Khady Florence Dabó Correia, and was attended by institutional representatives, partner organisations and members of civil society, reaffirming the joint commitment to strengthening social protection in the country.
ESSOR in Guinea-Bissau was represented by the Project Coordinator, Thirzah Bernardo Vieira, while ADPP Guinea-Bissau was represented by the Executive Director, Fernando Binhafa, who also serves as President of the Organising Committee for this edition of the fair.
The 5th Basic Social Services Fair, under the motto “TOGETHER for the Most Vulnerable”, will take place on 6 and 7 March 2026, in the Matandim neighbourhood and surrounding areas, in Bissau.
This initiative aims to bring social services closer to communities, facilitating access to information, guidance and support in various social areas through collaboration between public institutions, civil society organisations and development partners. The fair seeks to strengthen social inclusion and improve access to essential social services for the most vulnerable populations.
The organisation of this fair reflects the joint efforts of the institutions involved in promoting a more inclusive and supportive society with better opportunities for all.
