The Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil has begun yet another year of agricultural cultivation, bringing together teachers, students, and the school leadership in preparing the land — a moment that symbolises much more than just the start of farming: it represents a commitment to education rooted in practice and sustainability.
In 2024, the school harvested 500 kg of groundnuts, a key component of the school’s menu, ensuring a healthy and locally produced diet. The field, approximately 1.25 hectares in size, was granted by the Chief of Tchur, Lúcio Rodrigues, for the cultivation and production of groundnuts and beans.
Each year, The Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil promotes food production as part of its pedagogical project, also encouraging future teachers to bring this practice into their own schools and communities.
