On May 28th, International Menstrual Dignity Day was celebrated—a date that promotes conscious dialogue and education about menstruation.
In 2022, ADPP GUINÉ-BISSAU, in partnership with UFF-Humana Denmark, received donations of sewing machines, patterns, materials, and a demonstration video that facilitates the production of reusable pads. This initiative was complemented by a workshop led by Greta Simona, an environmental and communications officer, at the DNS-Bachil Teacher Training School and the ADPP Bissorã Vocational School.
Guinea-Bissau is still a country in need of solutions for the health of girls and women, aiming to break the stigma and shame surrounding menstruation.
Due to the lack of access to appropriate menstrual products, many girls and women resort to using old cloths, which can cause serious health problems.
Advantages of using reusable pads?
