Informing for Change: Building Communities Better Prepared for Climate Challenges
The Climate Change Adaptation Awareness Project promotes environmental awareness and climate education in the regions of Cacheu and Oio, helping communities understand the impacts of climate change and adopt practices that protect the environment and natural resources.
The initiative engages teachers, local communities and other community stakeholders, creating opportunities for learning, participation and collective action to strengthen sustainable responses to environmental challenges.

Direct Beneficiaries: Approximately 10,000 people
Indirect Beneficiaries: More than 220,000 people across Guinea-Bissau
Partner: Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Senegal
Key Activities
The project began with a baseline study to assess community knowledge of climate change and its impacts.
Environmental awareness and climate education activities will be carried out in the target communities, supported by educational materials designed to promote understanding of environmental issues and encourage sustainable practices.
Twenty teachers who graduated from the DNS-Bachil Teacher Training College will receive specialised training to deliver environmental education activities within the participating communities.
Project activities and awareness messages will also be broadcast through Radio Sol Mansi, extending the project's reach and ensuring that climate information is accessible to a wider audience.

Impact
