Creating Opportunities through Skills Training and Entrepreneurship
The project supports women and young people in establishing and developing small businesses through vocational skills training, entrepreneurship development and ongoing technical support.
The initiative aims to strengthen participants' skills, promote economic independence, and create new income-generating opportunities within local communities.

Main Activities
ADPP Vocational School Bissorã delivers vocational training programmes lasting between 45 and 60 days, combining theoretical instruction with practical, hands-on learning across a range of professional fields.
Training areas include:
- Agriculture
- Construction and Masonry
- Domestic Electrical Installation and Solar Energy
- Plumbing
- Seasonal Fruit Processing
- Cashew Nut Processing
Throughout the training, participants develop business ideas, prepare business plans and receive practical support to help them launch their own income-generating activities.
Following the training, the project team continues to mentor the new entrepreneurs by providing technical guidance and ongoing support to help develop and strengthen their small businesses.
Results Achieved
- 200 participants completed the training between 2025 and 2026.
- Business plans were developed by all participants.
- Individual and group start-up toolkits were distributed to support the launch of new businesses.
- Approximately 10% of the supported entrepreneurs are people with disabilities.
Impact
The project strengthens entrepreneurship among women and young people by supporting the creation of sustainable small businesses. It increases income-generating opportunities, promotes economic self-reliance, and contributes to greater economic inclusion within local communities.
