Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights mobilisation
ADPP-GB is involved in promoting general health and mobilising youth to be active in communities to raise awareness about the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
Teachers were trained as agents for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. This brings knowledge to the many students the 248 teachers teach daily. The new curriculum was well received and supports the education that brings new knowledge addresses gender equality in schools and supports a new generation with new knowledge.
Community Health Agents, community leaders, parents and youths have, in the last two years, improved the understanding and prepared the next generation on sexual reproductive health issues, violence and gender inequality. Six project leaders have worked daily with the communities and supported communities in being able to be in a dialogue and recognise the importance.
In rural communities, girls often get pregnant at a premature age. They bear five to six children on average. In the last two years, Family Planning and contraceptive methods have been part of supporting the families. In that context, 4000 youths were mobilised to use condoms and shared their doubts and concepts about Sexual Reproductive Health.
Furthermore, 100 health technicians were trained in data and data collection in the five operational regions, supporting the availability of data.
