The TCE Guinea-Bissau program started in October 2018 and ended in 2024. The project was implemented in the regions of Oio (Mansoa sector), Gabu (Gabu City), Quinara (Buba sector) in cooperation with the Armed Forces in Guinea Bissau and the Ministry of Health.

The purpose is to build on good practices regarding HIV prevention, treatment, testing, and care. The project is supported financially and technically by DHAPP (US Department of Defence HIV/AIDS Prevention Program) and Humana People to People partners.
Guinea-Bissau is a high HIV-TB-burdened country. In 2020, there was a 12% increase in people diagnosed with HIV infection and TB. To minimise stigma and discrimination in caring for the sick and vulnerable people, there is a need for basic trust among people.
That is why ADPP-GB project leaders involve the whole community in all project activities and have health as a transversal element.
