At the Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil youth prepare themselves to become qualified primary school teachers, contributing to improved quality of education, particularly in rural areas of Guinea-Bissau. Through a three-year boarding school programme developed by Humana People to People and implemented by ADPP Guinea-Bissau, students acquire pedagogical knowledge, practical teaching experience, and a strong connection with the communities where they will serve.
Since its establishment, the college has played a key role in preparing teachers who are equipped to respond to the challenges of the national education system while promoting learner-centred, inclusive education that supports community development.
By 2025, 319 students had graduated from the programme.

Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil contributes to increase the number of qualified primary school teachers in Guinea-Bissau, strengthening the quality of education and creating better learning opportunities for thousands of children, particularly in rural communities.
By combining pedagogical knowledge, practical experience, and community engagement, the students at the college prepare themselves professionally, capable of leading positive change in the schools and in the communities where they work.
Teacher Training College DNS-Bachil was established in 2011 as a pilot project following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2008 between ADPP Guinea-Bissau and the Ministry of Education. The initiative aimed to strengthen primary teacher education and respond to the country's growing demand for qualified teachers.
In the same year, ADPP Guinea-Bissau signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture to rehabilitate a former agricultural school in Bachil, Cacheu Region, transforming it into a teacher training college. The rehabilitation of the facilities was funded by members of the Humana People to People Federation, allowing the first intake of students to begin in February 2012.
